There’s so much happening in Fond du Lac

Now that the school year is underway, we have much to be proud of in the Fond du Lac School District. We’d like to share a few highlights with you.

In early October, a survey mailer  went out to Fond du Lac residents asking for input related to Fond du Lac School District’s facilities. It shared, “While we have done our best to maintain these schools, a significant investment is needed to address the following: safety and security, building systems, American with Disabilities ACT (ADA) Compliance, and educational support.” Survey results will be presented at an upcoming Board of Education meeting and will also be available on the website.

Coming up soon is the high school musical, with shows taking place November 1-4. This year, students are performing the musical version of A Christmas Carol. Broadway heavy hitters, Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens, breathe fantastic new life into this classic tale. It’s a wonderful opportunity—especially for chorus and theater alumni—to check out what always proves to be a great show.

Now that the structure is almost completed,  the Architecture Construction Academy (ACE) Promotion Committee, is beginning to craft plans for ACE’s Open House on January 16, 2019. Well over 38 companies played a significant role in the ACE Academy finally coming to fruition. Considered to be one of the largest collaborative projects in the State of Wisconsin, ACE is a real “jewel” in our community. If you’re in the area on January 16, please join us at the Open House between 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. We’re sure you’ll be impressed by what you see.

Get involved with Fond du Lac schools

Did you know that many Fond du Lac High School alumni continue to stay involved with our schools and students? Through mentoring, volunteering and other forms of involvement, our past students help us ensure our school district is preparing the next generation of learners for college and careers. Due to their efforts, our alumni play a major role in ensuring the ongoing vitality of the Fond du Lac community.

If you’re interested in getting involved and have some ideas for doing so, please contact Gloria Schmidt at schmidtg@fonddulac.k12.wi.us
