Dale Fridley, a former teacher in the Fond du Lac School District, was recently recognized for his 45 years as a bus driver for Johnson School Bus. The excitement kids display when they board the bus is one of the reasons he’s been able to stick around so long. “They get on the school bus every morning just fired up and ready to go to school, full of vim and vigor. It’s fun to watch them,” Fridley, 74, said of the younger children.
Fridley’s influence extends beyond his bus driving and teaching roles to the local sports scene as a football referee, as a girls’ softball umpire, adult softball coordinator through the Recreation Department, and an inaugural member of the Fond du Lac Softball Hall of Fame.
