FDL High School Helps Empty Bowls

The Fond du Lac community will come together on November 30 to fight hunger with the annual Empty Bowls Luncheon fundraiser at The Holiday Inn from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Enjoy a bowl of soup paired with bread, milk and dessert, receive a hand-crafted bowl, and donate to a phenomenal cause for $15.

Fond du Lac High School’s Culinary Arts program is a first-time soup contributor, along with Boda’s Restaurant, The Holiday Inn, Idlewhile Inn, Salty’s Seafood & Spirits, and Trepanier’s Backyard Grill & Bar.

Fondy High School, Theisen Middle School, and Woodworth Middle School as well as 10 other area schools also contributed the hand-crafted bowls that are sent home with attendees as a reminder of those in our community who often don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit five area food pantries. With close to 500 attendees, the “unique” luncheon typically raises $10,000 in two hours.
